How to prepare nice pongal

How to prepare ven pongal as they do in hotel,i do in pressure cooker it comes sticky.

1. Wash the rice 3 to 4 times with water before cooking, which will reduce the stickiness.
2. Fry moongdal before adding with the rice to cook.

வெண் பொங்கல் பண்ணும் போது
பருப்பை இலேசாக வறுத்துக் கொள்ளவும்
1/2 மணி நேரம் பச்சை அரிசியை ஊறவைக்கவும்
தாளித்து அதிலே அரிசி பருப்பை போட்டு வேகவிடவும்
2 கப் அரிசி பருப்பு இருந்தால் 5கப் தண்ணீர் ஊற்றி 2விசில் போடவும்
செய்து பார்த்து பதில் தரவும்

Things u need
* ponni raw rice 1 cup
* moong-dal 1/2 cup
* 2 tbsp ghee
* 1 tbsp canola oil (any cooking oil)
* Cashewnuts 10
* redchillies - 2
* green chilies - 3 (cut in the center part)
* curry leaves - 5
* whole pepper - 10

How to prepare ven-pongal as they do in Hotel.
1. soak 1 cup raw-ponni rice in 4 1/2 cup of water in a vessel which we use to cook in the cooker.
2. Take a kadai. pour 2 tbsp ghee. Fry cashewnuts and keep the fried cashewnuts aside in a small cup/plate.
3. With the remaining ghee in the kadai, pour the 1tbsp oil. after coming to boil state add redchillis, curryleaves, greenchillis, whole pepper. fry it then switch off the stove. put 1/2 cup of moong dal in that and let it fry in the remaining heat.
5. pour whatever in the kadai in the soaking-rice. very important - add hingpowder which will give u a nice taste. and Salt to taste. Just mix once and close the cooker lid.
6. After 3 vissil, switch off the stove.
Super ven-mongal ready.

My husband loves it :) I prepare this atleast once in a week. I make brinjal-chutney (we say in sourashtra "budit" = Madurai special) as a side dish with this ven-pongal.

i could not find seeragam in ur recipe. i think that too adds to the special flavour of ven pongal. can i do ur recipe by frying seeragam along with pepper?
